Travel Team Commitment: If you register your player for a Milton Youth Soccer BAYS Travel Teams there is an expectation of commitment to the team, and a desire to make this team a priority. If placed on a Travel team, players must commit to:
- Attend Most Practices
- Attend Most Games
In the event that a players is consistently unable to meet the above commitment, the coach, with the support of Milton Youth Soccer, may remove that player from the team’s roster.
TRAVEL LEAGUE: Our Travel League offers players in Grades 3-8 an opportunity to advance skills and compete against teams from other towns in the BAYS League. Travel League is open to all Milton residents and students at any Milton school. Games are held on Saturdays and include 5 home and 5 away games (typically within 1-hr drive.) Volunteer parent coaches host team practices. Teams are formed based on evaluation scores with the goal of grouping players of similar skill and ability levels. (Age group evaluations will be held each Spring. Coaches are expected to submit evaluations following each season.) Each team is then placed into an appropriately competitive section in the BAYS league. Do not register for Travel Soccer unless you can commit to attend most practices and games. Only players that register on time are guaranteed a spot on a team.
The registration fee is $175. Uniform (jersey, shorts, and socks) must be purchased separately, but can be reused season-to-season. Please note: ALL new Travel players will need to purchase a uniform.
- Important: Number requests for new players are not honoured. For new travel players or current players who do not remember their numbers but need replacement shirts, please leave the number field blank when ordering. Please order asap. Uniform orders should be placed ahead of final team assignments. We thank you for placing orders early. Uniforms will begin shipping approximately 6 weeks before the season, so please be patient if you order early.
- Also remember that any orders providing incorrect notation of jersey numbers will not be eligible for refunds and may result in players not being able to wear the jersey during game play. Milton Soccer will advise players of their number which will stay consistent from season-to-season unless specifically communicated.
A note on uniform sizing. Travel jerseys run small, and are a trimmer soccer fit. YS for smaller 3G kids, YM good for 3G, 4G, and some 5G. YL for larger 4G, 5G and reg 6G, smaller 7G.
AS, AM , AL sizes are trim adult fit.
Training jackets run large, one size bigger than jerseys.
Sweatshirts run regular size.
In the past, player evaluations were held in June for 3rd through 8th grades for placement on appropriate teams. U16 and U18 opportunities are available in the spring for high school players. These evaluations are run by a third party and those evaluation results, along with coach evaluations from the players' prior K2+ and Travel Coaches are used to determine placement. Travel coaches are expected to hold a Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association G & F license. Skills clinics will be offered for several weeks each season by professional coaches.
