Travel Soccer Tips & Resources

Following up from the March 27th Travel coaches meeting, and as we kick off the Spring Soccer Season, Milton Soccer would like to share the following list of helpful hints, contact information, and other useful sites to access throughout the year.

  • Credentials – If you have not completed your Safe Soccer on-line training and CORI Registration, please do so ASAP!!  You must wear your credentials at each game. Questions, please reach out to Heather Montgomery at [email protected].
  • MYSA – Mass Youth Soccer Association is a resources for safe soccer and coaching conversations. They also have Coaching Education Sessions around Massachusetts. More information to come if Milton will be able to host a session.
  • Bays – Resources from the rule book, schedules, scores, and opponent coach contact information.
    1. Login information: first initial, last name (e.g. jsmith), and last 4 digits of your primary phone # (e.g. 1234).
    2. Coaches Responsibilities
    3. Reach out to the opponent coach to check in with any concerns about the up-and-coming game and about holiday weekends.
    4. If a game needs to be rescheduled (not including weather related), notification to the home referee and field coordinators must be done BEFORE Thursday at 7pm. See Milton’s contacts are in #5.
    5. Send Section Captains game scores within 48 hours after each game. Section Captain is also listed in your Section information on the BAYS website.

    9. Game Feedback Report: Login and go to MY BAYS—>COACH/MANAGER—>GAME FEEDBACK.

     

  • Rosters – Head coaches will receive the final roster by next week. Bring 2 hard copies to each game.
  • Reschedule Home Games – If you need to reschedule a home game, reach out to Bryan Taylor ([email protected]) and Brendan Bartley ([email protected]) to reschedule any home game. Bryan oversees Milton Soccer Referees and Brendan manages our fields.
  • Practice Fields – Please sign up for 1 hour time slot per week for each team you coach. Link to sign up will be going out by next week. For any other field, softball, baseball, or lax have the field if they are there, so if you happen to use one of those fields, please make sure to not interfere with their practice/games. 
  • Team Snap – Communication tool for coaches to send practice and game schedules, track player availability, and other communication with families. Reach out with questions to Matt Hallisey at [email protected].
  • Lesson Plans – Looking for practice ideas, drills, how to teach attacking, etc. The Coaching Manual has it all! Head coaches have access and if you have any questions, reach out to Alex Cardoso at [email protected].
  • Contact information – Please find Milton Soccer Board Members here to reach out for questions and concerns.
  • Information for Families – Milton Soccer will send out information to all families explaining the RESPECT Campaign, Zero Tolerance, and parking information for Flately Field and Point 32. Please remind your families of this as well.

 Information regarding MTOC and President Cup will go out as time gets nearer. Below is information if you would like to learn more:

·MA Tournament of Champions – MTOC is a season-ending tournament sponsored by Mass Youth Soccer that brings together age group champions from participating travel leagues. Each league establish their own guidelines to determine their representatives to this tournament. Age brackets are grades 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th.

·Presidents Cup is done by Bays and is a competition in addition to regular season play. Last year 6th grade in division 3 & 4, 5th grade in divisions 2, 3, and 4 and top teams in 5th grade division 1 were invited to sign-up. Look for more information from us at the end of April.
