Coaches Corner - 23 May

Game Day Tips

  • Players & Coaches arrive at the game about 30 minutes prior  Starting with a warm up for about 5 minutes, fast paced passing drill for 10 minutes and then a shooting drill for 10 minutes.  Then we check in and go over where everyone is playing.
  • Don't forget to reach out to the coach you are going to play during the week. Make sure they have my contact info and we both know where the field is.

Practice Tip

  • *Sorry lesson plans are not available, they will be sent later in the week.
  • During practice, ensure your players understand what the session focus is, and they get what to do. During games, NEVER coach the player on the ball (try this during practice as well), but rather the ones off the ball. Limit your coaching in general but provide feedback. Constant coaching can only derail a player and team. Have objectives for them to achieve pregame, check during half and adjust objectives for second half. If you provide them objectives, your coaching will be simpole and just have to concentrate on subbing and providing feedback to subs coming off and going in.

Goalie Clinic
