Update on Mask Guidance - 19 May 2021

Dear Milton Soccer Coaches, Parents, and Families,

Face coverings is a very fast-moving topic and we know that more changes will be coming out SOON. Currently, Mass Youth Soccer and the BAYS League have released updated COVID protocols for us to follow, IMMEDIATELY:

  • Masks are NOT required for YOUTH participants aged 18 years and under when engaged in soccer and actively on the field of play. (Applies to youth players and refs)
  • Masks are not required by Spectators, Coaches, Referees and other team/club/league officials when 6’ of social distance can be maintained. If this distance is not maintained masks must be worn.
  • ALL participants, both youth and adult, must continue to wear facial coverings when not on the field of play, such as substitutes on the bench/team sidelines, and when entering or exiting the field area. This includes players with a medical exemption.

Please keep in mind youth participants of any age may continue to wear a mask at their families' discretion.

NOTE: Home Town rules still APPLY. Some town, city, and regional Boards of Health, as well as club organizations may impose more restrictive measures for facial coverings for participants and spectators. If so, these restrictions take precedence and must be respected and followed when games take place under those jurisdictions. Please make sure that all coaches communicate any specific restrictions to their visiting opponents well in advance of game time.
