Hello Coaches!
We want to support you, our amazing volunteer coaches, and one way we do this is through high-quality, easy-to-access coaching instruction. Here are a few ways to continue to advance your skills and confidence as a coach. We highly recommend you take advantage of one of these opportunities. If you have never taken a soccer course before, you will need to log in and take a brief (~20 min), free, online Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module before signing up for any of the below courses. This link will take you directly there.
1. Attend a professional coaching course right here in Milton Sep 22 (Zoom) and Sep 26 (Flatley Field). Milton Soccer is pleased to be hosting a 7v7 blended (part virtual, part in-person) US Soccer coaching course right here in Milton this Fall. This course is run by professional coaches from MA Youth Soccer and is part of US Soccer’s Grassroots License Pathway described here. You will learn the basics of how to run an effective practice (find out why kids stop and listen when you say "Eyes on me"), how to teach skills and how to keep soccer fun. This is a four-hour course, two via zoom and two in-person, where coaches will learn about U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 8-10. This is a perfect training opportunity for any new coaches, all 3-4th grade coaches, and any coaches who would like to brush up on the basics.

2. Attend other in-person coaching courses periodically hosted throughout the region. These include grassroots courses - 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11 - and more advanced courses. Milton Soccer is also happy to reimburse you for these. A list of upcoming courses available throughout the region is here.
3. Attend online coaching courses. All of U.S. Soccer's Grassroots courses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11) are available online. If you cannot attend an in-person course, please consider signing up for an online version here. Cost is $25 - Milton Soccer happy to reimburse you upon completion.
